Dr. Evan Griffith is a doctoral candidate in Infectious Disease and Global Health at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, where he earned his DVM, MPH, and MS in Conservation Medicine.
He serves as an Associate Editor for CABI One Health, secretary for the Network for Ecohealth and One Health (NEOH), early career representative for Ecohealth International, and member of the World Pastoralist Forum.
His research focuses on improving health and well-being at the human-animal-environment interface among pastoralist communities in northern Kenya and Uganda. Dr. Griffith is an expert in systems and transdisciplinary approaches, including participatory epidemiology and fuzzy cognitive mapping, which facilitate the co-production of knowledge, social learning, capacity building, and practical implementation. His doctoral thesis centers on developing, piloting, and validating the Community One Health Index (COHI), a participatory, rapid assessment tool designed to aid decision-making and improve health and well-being outcomes for pastoralist communities in the drylands.
