Dr. Ibrahim Kaleel is a distinguished Agricultural Engineer with a specialization in Soil and water Engineering. He earned his bachelor's degree in agricultural engineering from UAS, Dharwad, followed by a master's and doctoral degree from the College of Agricultural Engineering, UAS Raichur, Karnataka. Additionally, he holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Geospatial Technology Applications in Rural Development from NIRD, Hyderabad.
Dr. Kaleel is a life member of esteemed professional bodies, including the Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers (ISAE), New Delhi, and the Knowledge Innovation and Agricultural Science Network (KISAN), Meghalaya.
A leader in watershed management, Dr. Kaleel has made significant contributions to this field, particularly through the use of geospatial technologies. He has developed standalone software and a Spatial Decision Support System (SDSS) tailored for watershed management and planning. His technical proficiency extends to database management systems, AutoCAD, GIS-based modeling, and remote sensing.
Dr. Kaleel’s exceptional work has earned him numerous prestigious accolades, including the Moulana Azad National Fellowship Award, the Dr. Ambedkar National Merit Award, the Young Scientist Award, and the Star Performer Award.
His international experience is equally noteworthy, with visits to renowned institutions such as the London School of Economics, Oxford University, and the UK Parliament. He has also presented at an international conference in Dubai, UAE. Dr. Kaleel has undertaken more than 20 professional training programs at leading global institutions, including ICRISAT, ISRO-NRSC, NBSS&LUP, CRIDA, FAO, UN, UNCCD, and the World Bank.
With a prolific academic record, Dr. Kaleel has authored 35 publications, including research articles, conference papers, abstracts, popular articles, book chapters, and technical manuals. He also serves as a full-time reviewer for the **International Journal of Plant & Soil Science** and the **International Journal of Environment and Climate Change**.
Over the span of his six-year professional career, Dr. Kaleel has held various prestigious roles, including senior research fellow, research associate, teaching associate, assistant professor, and scientist. His dedication to teaching, extension services, and research activities is evident through his leadership in organizing national and international conferences and training programs.
