About
Professor Tamar Koblianidze graduated from Tbilisi State University and received a PhD degree in economics in 2005. With over 30 years of experience in the academic field, she has contributed to institutions such as GTU, TSU, Iliauni, CIU, SDASU and GRUNI. She is currently an Associate Professor at GTU and holds the position of Deputy Head of the Faculty of Sustainable Mountain Development. Over the years, she has held important positions, including dean of the Faculty of Business at Caucasus International University and director of undergraduate and graduate programs. Since 2019, she has been heading the undergraduate program in tourism at the David Agmashenebeli University of Georgia.
From 2011 to 2017, she was actively involved in EU Tempus projects such as WeNet (158739-TEMPUS-DE-TEMPUS-JPHES) and Cruise-T (543681-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-DE-TEMPUS-JPHES). Since 2015, she has been a valued member of the scientific committee of the Economic Sciences series "Annals of Ovid University". In 2018-19, as part of the EU Mayors for Economic Growth project, she played a key role in the development of a local economic plan for the municipality of Gori (in the tourism sector). Since 2019, he has been a member of the Scientific Council of the European Wine and Culture Route ITER VITIS. In 2020-2022, she has been part of the E-COST scientific network of the European Cooperation of Science and Technology. She is the founder of two non-governmental organizations - ITER VITIS Georgia - she is the president of the association and CNPRC - the executive director of the Regional Center for Consulting and New Professions. In 2016, she joined the GTU team as a visiting professor; Tamar took up her position as Associate Professor in 2021. In 2019–2023, she initiated and organized student and scientific international conferences, as well as various external events at GTU. In 2022 and 2023, she participated in the work of the organizing committees of international scientific conferences. Currently, as a core employee of the university, she participates in Erasmus+ exchange programs.

Under her direct supervision, in 2023-2024, up to 10 research projects were prepared at the Faculty of Sustainable Mining Development, one of which is “Creation of a master’s educational program at State Technical University together with the Mining University (Milan University Research Canter).” : “Sustainable development of mountain areas.” The project is financed by the World Bank.
Dr. Tamar Koblianidze has published more than 50 scientific articles in national and international journals. Many publications are devoted to tourism, including mountain tourism and sustainable development.
